In response to a post from independent analyst Benji-Sales on Twitter, Xbo圎ra co-host Nick Baker claimed sources told him that Sony and Valve entered an agreement of some sort for Half-Life: Alyx to appear on PlayStation VR 2. Related: Valve Has New Games To Announce After Half-Life: Alyx These specs suggest Half-Life: Alyx would be right at home on PlayStation's new VR device reportedly, Sony and Valve came to the same conclusion. Said segment confirmed the PSVR 2 name, 4K capabilities, eye-tracking features, single cord set-up, and previously outed foveated rendering technology. Months of rumors and leaks filled in many blanks regarding the headset itself, a number of which were proven accurate earlier this week during Sony's brief PlayStation segment at CES 2022. Sony let loose cursory details about PSVR 2 in 2020, devoting much of its public-facing attention to the controllers that are now known as Sense controllers. As pundits and fans alike have already proclaimed, such a project coming to Sony's new VR headset would mark an incredible boon for the platform. Half-Life: Alyx even inspired the purchase of roughly one million VR units, according to reports that made the rounds in the weeks following its rollout. The critically acclaimed Alyx Vance-starring adventure launched on PC in early 2020 and performed well commercially out of the gate.
